The tremor shook entire towns in the area and caused building to sway in the capital Tokyo. Media reports say all high speed Bullet Trains shut down automatically and nuclear power plants were not affected. Televison pictures showed images from surveillance cameras that shuttered for more than 30 seconds. The quake came just seconds after a warning from seismologists. Japan is one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries and experiences thousands of minor tremors each year.(News Today) |
